THE HOME OFFICE

A WISH OR A NEW NORMALITY?

By: Marinée Núñez Zepeda

Many of us wished we could have flexible hours and be our own bosses so that we could manage our times and achieve a balance between the personal and the professional, unaware of many of the responsibilities that this would entail.

In the new normal, this has become a reality, since remote work has been promoted, which leads to various obstacles with which we are not familiar, for example, managing to maintain an organized team, where we can all participate and give our opinions to improve working together. This has been complicated, since the tasks at home have become more independent due to time and extra activities. The desire to spend more time at home has become an obligation with new responsibilities.

Technology has allowed us to maintain constant contact that helps us to solve problems that arise during the day to day, but in the same way, it is not so easy to share with the rest, because they are all at different points and it is not possible reach agreement in a faster and more effective way with co-workers.

The desire to be able to manipulate our time has become a new normal, which perhaps has not been as we imagined it, since it implies greater professional and personal responsibility.

These new experiences will help us to learn more every day to be able to cross the barriers of distance creating a greater connection, not only with people in our close space, but also national and international connections or more difficult to overcome.

Home office experience

In ACSI Research they agree that working from home allows them to be better organized in their time since the transfer to the office is eliminated, giving more productive time and improving their performance, although they also comment that due to the fact of not having an established schedule like what it is in an office that causes the working hours to be longer and therefore more tiring.

Due to the new modality of virtual school, many families have had to adapt to having their children at home throughout the day and have had to become even more involved in school activities, which is an impediment to comply with all activities work in a more efficient way.

Economically speaking, a savings is reflected in the cost of the transfer, as well as in the food, since, due to the distances, they prefer to buy food near offices for fear that the food will not arrive in good condition, while, being at home, they can eat homemade food avoiding double spending.

ACSI Research has adapted to this new normal and has not stood idly by, on the contrary, it has managed to unite and face the obstacles that continually arise, such as mistrust and uncertainty that it generates in people when it comes to answer telephone surveys, since many institutions are not attending offices and they are looking for a follow-up of graduates, new products, among others.

To achieve good results, ACSI Research has focused on forming a trusted work team that is committed and has clear objectives. Likewise, a human bond has been created with all collaborators, generating greater empathy and understanding in order to adapt.

It is important to keep a log to monitor progress both as a team and individually, to be available to solve problems and doubts that arise, maintain constant communication with each of the collaborators and encourage them to reach the established goals.

The commitment of the collaborator and the company is a relevant point to be able to carry out each of the activities, as well as having knowledge of the obligations and a good organization to be able to fulfill them.

The new normal has brought us new experiences, both positive and areas of opportunity, but it is important to highlight the favorable ones and generate a motivated team to move forward and be able to face any adversity that arises in the short and / or long term.

Do you expect changes to come to you, or are you willing to create change?
